Town of Elkmont

Welcome to Elkmont! If you aren’t a local, we invite you to
look over our website and see what this area has to offer. If this
is your home, I can’t tell you how many times I am told by
visitors how friendly everyone is and you make that happen
every day. Thank you.

As Mayor of Elkmont since 1998, I consider public service an
honor that comes with an obligation to always be seeking ways
to make Elkmont a better place to live, work and play.
Striving for excellence in all that we do is a goal all citizens can
embrace.

Even as a strong proponent of limited government, I recognize
that the local municipality does have a vital role to play in
improving the quality of life in a community and as a servant
leader, I believe part of my job is to find the best way to
position community, business, industry, education and
infrastructure resources to advance the common good. Together,
we have achieved that goal with managed measured growth and
today more people work within the Town limits than live here.

We are actively putting dollars into infrastructure improvements
on Roads, Parks and Tourism. Grants have been awarded and
more have been submitted in these areas – multiplying resident’s
tax dollars. One of the grants will produce a long-range Blueprint
for Elkmont and many citizens provided inputs that are being
incorporated into that planning for the future. The resurgence in
industry and business as well as an influx of people who want to
be part of this community and call Elkmont home are positive
signs that the Town is moving in the right direction.

We are fortunate to live in a beautiful part of Alabama with
rolling hills, streams and the nearby Elk River. Our ballfields are
filled with children, the Rails to Trails is home to walkers, bikers
and horseback riders alike and the Limestone County canoe and
kayak trail is only minutes away. If you enjoy southern charm,
small town living with large city access and a day’s drive away
from some of the best the South has to offer, Elkmont is for you!

We welcome you as a newcomer to try us out. Elkmont is full of
the best people around and if you have since moved away, you
already know this about your hometown – “It
Never Leaves You.”
